Apr. 2, 2010
As another project draws to a close it's been quite a process. Starting back on Jan 18, 2010 we began by removing the brick fire place, kitchen cabinets and tile floors. We also removed hardwood from 2 rooms to be used later in the family room. We relocated heating ducts, plumbing, drains, and supplies. A load bearing wall was removed and a 4 ply prolamb beam was installed to give way to an open concept that is filled with new cabintry and a beautiful 2 height island. New drywall and additional electrical was also added. 20 x 20 tiles were installed in kitchen and mudroom, hardwood installed in the dinning room, family room, powder room and foyer. Orange peel ceilings, crown molding, new trim and a complete paint job added a personal touch.
On March 5th, GCW custom kitchens installed beautiful dark wood cabinets. On March 19th granite was installed by the top shop bringing this project near to completion. Minor decorating is still in the process and a backsplash has to be chosen and installed after the tile has been decided.
